Hot and Humid Weekend...Thunderstorms Too

HOT WEEKEND...We may have our first 90 degree day this year soon as we wrap up May. Not only that, but the atmosphere will become sticky as humidity increases now that traditional Summer months are upon us. The weekend offers something for everybody, with a cold front coming into the area and stalling out right over us. This means partly sunny days with a decent chance of afternoon thunderstorms that will be hit and miss across the foothills. As I look ahead into June, I think we stand a good chance of making a dent in our drought with a tropical system coming up at us from the Gulf or Caribbean. Next week looks warm but not "too hot" yet, with still a chance of pop-up thunderstorms.

THE FORECAST...For our readers in Avondale, Bills Creek and Beaverdam

Friday...Partly cloudy and warm. Highs upper 80's.
Friday Night...Clear. Lows mid 60's.
Saturday and Sunday...Partly cloudy with a good chance of afternoon storms. Hot, highs near 90 Saturday, mid 80's Sunday. Lows mid 60's.
