Snow After Easter?

MARCH MADNESS! I'm not talking about basketball, but the snowstorm the weather charts are painting over Shelby for Monday. Do I believe it? Of course not, but it has been interesting to see two of the best weather models show a snowstorm right after Easter from northern Georgia to the Northeast. See the big red "L" over Colorado? That could be the impulse that triggers our wet snowstorm Monday. Keyword "could". If things still look "interesting" by this weekend, I'll look more seriously at it on my weather blog, so check that out. For now, the weather is smooth sailing for this holiday weekend. March is usually our wettest month of the year, and so far we're on cue. Another round of rain and wind hit Wednesday, and will be followed by high pressure for a few days. Gradually, cooler air will be building in, especially aloft, so you'll mainly notice it at night, while the days seem mild and sunny through Easter. The low pressure over the Rockies Saturday is the system that may or may not be our next big weather maker come Monday. Since it's late March, the high sun angle will help to warm the ground level temps, so any snow that falls would be tough to stick and be short lived outside the mountains. Much colder to start next week!

THE FORECAST...

Friday and Saturday...Mostly sunny. Highs upper 60's, Lows mid 40's.
Easter Sunday...Increasing clouds and colder. Highs mid 50's.
