MORE RAIN....The weekend looks rainy and cool for Saturday, followed by a cool Sunday. The weather is now in the usual changeable Springtime mode, with wild day to day changes. An energetic little system will be passing directly overhead Saturday, dropping rain and maybe thunderstorms over the Carolinas, with colder air pouring in behind it. We're still behind for the rain this year, but I think our chances of catching up significantly are pretty high for the next month. After this storm exits the coast, next week another powerful and far southern-tracking storm will approach mid week, with more rain and thunderstorms. Beyond next week, it really looks interesting, with some very cold Canadian air pouring down, and a "block" in Canada showing up. This will be the first block this Winter, if it materializes, and usually when these types of blocks occur, we get "strange" weather. Cold and stormy to say the least...now if this were the heart of Winter, I'd be honking snow and ice, but being March, it looks like several bouts of cold rain (and hailstones?) for Shelby later March into early April. We'll have to see how the jetstream lines up.
THE FORECAST...
Friday...Increasing clouds. Highs mid 60's
Friday Night and Saturday...Showers and thunderstorms developing. Lows mid 40s, Highs near 60.
Sunday...Clearing, windy and cooler. Highs near 60.
