Nice Weekend Followed by High Winds, Heavy Rains

VERY CHANGEABLE WEATHER CONTINUES...Our rollercoaster ride continues as we head into March. I see more chances of rain coming early next week, with a very powerful upper low developing over the Southeast. This next storm will mean business in terms of producing heavy rain, snow on the backside, but the most dangerous aspect will be the potential for a tornado outbreak. We could use the rains, as February only delivered us about 2.92" of rain, but no one needs twisters. The track of this next storm is still shaky, but our mountains could wind up with a significant snow. Speaking of snow, we just passed our 4 year anniversary of the big 10" snow that blanketed the county on February 26, 2004. We're way overdue now for some white stuff, but there's only a 1 in 10 chance that March produces a big snow here. But how about March 1960! Snow fell on March 2nd, 3rd, 9th, 11th, 12th, 15th, 16th, and 19th. The snowstorm on the 3rd and 9th were both BIG. And the whole month was colder than January that year. Amazing! Have a great weekend.

THE FORECAST...
Friday...Increasing clouds. Highs low 50's.
Friday Night...Chance of sprinkles or sleet pellets. Lows mid 30's.
Saturday and Sunday...Sunny and seasonable. Highs low 60s, Lows mid 30s
