Interstate 85 Snowfall

Nothing is much more concrete than earlier today, but it still appears that the idea of Interstate 85 as the divider will ring true. You have to allow the forecaster a few miles for a margin, but in general from Atlanta to Athens to Spartanburg to Charlotte to Raleigh appear the target for very significant snow. To the north and west of that line, there should be a quick drop off in snow amounts and intensity. To the south and east, more snow. Cleveland and Rutherford Counties lie right on the line between 1 to 2" and 3" or more. By morning, we should have some light rain falling, but it will quickly go to snow. The snow continue, lighter north and west, for the remainder of the day ending after dark. Roads will ice up quickly when the temperatures begin dropping in the afternoon.
I wish I could be more specific, but since our particular area lies on the fringes, its the toughest call to nail down. The slightest shift north or south will change the forecast by leaps and bounds. Have a good weekend regardless!
