MAPS LOOK COLD AND STORMY SOON

Monday Morning Update: The rain for Monday isn't going to arrive, but the good news is COLD AND STORMY are back in the forecast very soon. Thanksgiving looks wet, and a cold rain for the weekend.

COLD BLAST, THEN RAIN? A cold front will plow through here quickly Thursday morning, and may drop a quick shower, before we clear out in the afternoon. Temps will begin to tumble toward evening, on strong northwest winds as the front spins up a quick storm off the New England coast. What has my attention is the next storm though, slated for late Sunday into Monday. After a fine Saturday, we could begin to cloud up later Sunday and get an actual steady rain going overnight into Monday morning...and a cold rain at that. In this drought, it's always dangerous to call for rain, but since this has been showing up for several days now, I'd give this storm atleast a 50/50 shot of being something significant. Looking beyond that, our Thanksgiving day might be in jeapordy, with another strong cold front (and possibly rain) later next week, followed by yet another quick cold snap. Here's an interesting stat: We've had about 25" of rain this year, and we have only 6 more weeks to go to get to our normal rainfall total of about 50"...think we can do it? That's 25 more inches to go!

THE FORECAST...
Friday and Saturday...Sunny, windy and cool. Highs upper 50's Friday, low 60's Saturday. Cold mornings in the upper 20's.
Sunday...Increasing clouds with a chance of rain late. Highs low 60's.
