UPDATE FROM PAPER VERSION: THURSDAY OCT 25...
It now appears Cleveland County will clear out later Friday evening. We have one more slug of moisture that will back in from the coast and may get just far enough west to clip the area, meanwhile toward I-77 could get drenched, before the storm swings east and clears us out for the weekend.
RAIN...What is that wet stuff we've felt this week? In case you forgot, its a form of precipation called "rain". I mentioned in last week's column that there was a chance for a big rain this week, and atleast much of the Southeast has had it, finally! A very strong (and very unusually far south) upper low has formed over the Southeast and will slowly spin, pulling in moisture from both the Gulf and Atlantic. I don't know who will get the most rain from this setup, it's too early at the time of this writing, to know exactly where the upper low will drift. I think it's safe to say that by later Saturday it should be exiting our area, and perhaps could even be out of here later Friday. Once this golden nugget moves out, we'll switch back to our sunny skies for the majority of the weekend. The longer range looks cooler, much cooler. I'd like to say thanks to Dr. Ousley, an outstanding vet from Cross Country Veterinary in Lawndale, and many thanks to all his great helpers, for saving my little buddy...great folks!
