Good "Fair" Weather....No Rain In Sight

Another month has come and gone...with virtually no rain for Cleveland County, so what's new. I measured .02" of rain on the first of the month, and .68" on the fourteenth. Yet another RECORD DRY and RECORD HOT month in the books. Here's the weather discussion for this week:

"FAIR" WEATHER FOR THE FAIR...Perfect conditions are setting up for our Famous Cleveland County Fair. Sometimes around this time of year we get into a rainy pattern, but not so this time. A strong cold front will push through early Friday and usher in a nice cool Fall airmass. Unfortunately, very little if any rain will accompany the front. This will make about 17 dry cold fronts since March. We will have a long stretch of sunny days and cool crisp nights. There is a chance that late next week something may organize in the tropics, but in this worsening drought, I'd expect the best chances for rain are Texas and the Gulf States. No doubt September will go down as yet another bone-dry month, just another notch in a series of months with virtually no rain here. Atleast get out and enjoy the cooler Fall weather!

THE FORECAST...Friday Through Sunday...Sunny days, clear nights. Cooler. Highs mid 70's, lows lower 50's
