July 26

More Summer Storms...An active pattern is starting to shape up for most of us. There will be another strong cold front approaching the Carolinas this weekend, but it should stall over the Southeast instead of dropping our temps like the last two. This is just what the doctor ordered, since a stalled boundary means copious moisture and should enhance our rain chances...FINALLY! Unfortunately,a tropical system is taking aim on the Gulf Coast, probably Texas, a state that needs no more rain. The wind will be from the South, pulling in muggy tropical air for this weekend, and probably right into next week, with waves of low pressure training along it. All this adds up to atleast a 50/50 shot of afternoon showers and storms for the next several days. Watch out for the lightning! THE FORECAST... Friday Through Sunday...Partly cloudy and very muggy with a good chance of afternoon and evening storms (some will be gully washers). Highs upper 80s, lows upper 60s.
