SLIGHT WARMING TREND...The month of November went down as a top 5 coldest ever for our area, and I'm sure you could feel it! As we enter December things look to relax just temporarily and the cold airmasses will be not as cold, and will not hang around as long. This weekend will be a good example, as 2 cold fronts approach, and then head out to sea. The one Friday night might drop a sprinkle, but looks mainly dry. Then, a "clipper" screams down toward the Appalachians Saturday night and redevelops possibly into a storm for New England. That front Saturday night could send flurries through our skies, but is much more likely for the upper sections of Rutherford County and around the northern Mountains. These are just reinforcing cold airmasses, but our warm up is slated at the first of the week. By then, a storm will be forming in Texas and could send moisture our way for mid week. Right now, it looks like rain, but we'll have to see if any cold air is still around for a possibly icy beginning. I don't see a major snowstorm anytime soon, but I still do think this is our year, so be patient. It's all about the timing of moisture and cold air.
