Cold, Soaking Wet Friday..Next Week BRRRR

RAINY, COLD, WIND AND SNOW...A rollercoaster of a wild ride awaits us the next few days. A wallop of a strong storm will head right for us Friday and begin dumping heavy rains that won't let up until Saturday when the front goes through. As this storm lashes the entire Eastern Seaboard from Florida to Maine, the next element kicks in...strong winds. By early Saturday, strong winds will begin to usher in colder air and even snow flurries for the higher mountains of NC, and then yet another cold front will come barrelling down straight from the Arctic. This new front will unleash the first hard freeze across most everyone east of the Mississippi by Monday and next week you'll think is this October, or January? More snow to boot for the Appalachians, and wind that chills you to the bone. By then, the sun will come back and the cold will ease by midweek allowing a moderation. If you don't make the mountains Sunday to see the leaves, you'll probably have to wait til next year.
