QUICK CHANGES AHEAD...The weather pattern beginning Thursday will be marked by several rounds of very active and changeable conditions. Unfortunately, Mother's Day looks like it falls right on one of the stormy days. The first front comes through late Thursday and may linger into Friday, as a very deep low treks almost right over our mountains and then turns into a strong gale force off the East Coast. We have a brief drying out time Saturday, with winds and cooler conditions but don't blink, here comes the next storm. Possibly late Saturday, re-development of rain and severe thunderstorms takes shape, and Sunday looks like a soaker. This also turns into quite an East Coast Beast, and chills us down in it's wake. By later next week, yep you got it...more storms and rain! Have a great weekend and Happy Mother's Day!
THE FORECAST...
Friday...Showers and storms early. Partial clearing late. Highs near 80.
Friday Night and Saturday...Partly cloudy and breezy. Lows upper 50's, Highs mid 70's.
Saturday Night and Mother's Day...Rain and possibly severe thunderstorms arriving. Lows mid 50's, Highs mid 70's.

How does it look for Mother's Day? Will we have one of those "gully washers" and threatening weather?
ReplyDeleteThanks.
Oh yes, Mother's Day starts wet, but by afternoon we may have some clearing. But then, as the cold pocket of air crosses over us later Sunday and into Monday, we run the risk of hail producing storms. Several episodes just like this have already occured in our area just in the last 3 weeks. Monday looks very windy also, with a strong nor'easter developing just offshore Virginia. Stay on guard for possible severe thunderstorms and twisters! We're not out of the woods until Tuesday morning.
