Stormy Weekend

MORE RAIN ON THE WEEKEND...This will make about 7 out of the last 8 weekends that had mostly cloudy skies and some rain. It's hard to believe we're still behind in the rainfall for the year, but we are. We still haven't landed the big soaker, but atleast all of us in Rutherford and Cleveland County have had some rains. The models are ambiguous about where to develop the next upper low, and this is definitely the season for them around here. The last one caused a few hailstorms around Patterson Springs and Kings Mountain, and of course the 2 tornadoes around Lawndale and Fallston areas last weekend. So you'll want to keep on guard when the next one comes around within the next week or so. A slow moving front will come at us this weekend and probably stall in the area, meaning clouds with scattered showers. The long range next week still looks unsettled, so I can't call for full fledged sun or warmth just yet. In fact, it could really turn unusually cold later next week.

Foothills Forecast...For our readers in Sandy Mush, Polkville and Earl.

Friday Through Sunday...Partly to mostly cloudy, with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Heavy storms early Monday morning! Highs mid 70's, Lows mid 50's.

  2. Thanks! I've been following Cleveland County's weather since I was a kid...guess I always will. I like the fact we seem to get all types of weather imaginable, from Twisters, to heat waves, ice storms, tropical storms, hurricanes, and the occasional snowstorm. The last couple of years of drought has been a bummer, but we seem to be on the upswing. Keep reading!
