Springlike Gives Way To Much Colder Weather

SHOCK TO THE SYSTEM....Our Springlike air earlier this week will be replaced with very cold arctic air beginning late Saturday. By Sunday, we'll know it's still Winter. The upcoming cold shot will be very brief though, and our area lies just at the southern extent of the cold air. Places to our north, like Richmond and DC, will shiver with the coldest air of the season, on howling winds. The Great Lakes will dump heavy snow on the usual snow belts, maybe a couple of feet of snow! After this cold snap, it doesn't look good for snow lovers. We will begin a warming trend and the next rainmaker arrives after all our cold air slides out, sound familiar? By next Wednesday, our next rain is on the doorstep, then we repeat the pattern with cold air coming back in, dry, rinse, lather, repeat. The good news is we're atleast getting rains now, and after the horribly dry 2007, we need all we can get, although Brooke in Golden Valley wants more snow. Maybe Old Man Winter still has a trick up his sleeve.

THE FORECAST...

Friday...Sunny. Highs upper 50's.

Saturday...Sprinkles or showers early, then windy and sunny, turning colder late. Highs upper 50's.
