HEATWAVE IN DECEMBER? Last week I told my readers that this week would be tank top and shorts weather, but who knew we'd hit 80 degrees 3 times! There's no doubt we're living in some warm and dry weather, with the August heatwave of 104 degrees and now we even have Tropical Storm "Olga" not too far from the Gulf Coast. Sound like a Sci-Fi movie? Nope, just the weather for 2007. If you're looking for snow anytime soon, head up to the mountains after the storm blows by this weekend. If you're looking for rain, you may get a few sprinkles later Saturday into Sunday morning, but if this storm is like all the others this year, I wouldn't expect much. However this storm is forecast to entrain the moisture from "Olga" and supercharge it as a bomb along the Northeast coast, dropping heavy snow and blizzard conditions up there. Hurricanes meeting snowstorms: Not just Hollywood anymore. Maybe we'll all get the Christmas Spirit by Sunday when the cold front comes through and our temps drop back to normal for a few days...but then you know the warmth will come back soon. I have a feeling kids will be asking Santa for a new Summer outfit this year instead of sleds, gloves, coats, etc. I'll be doing a 2007 Weather Year In Review soon...so pick up your Shopper each week!
