Fay's remnants will overspread heavy showers and thunderstorms across the western Carolinas beginning Monday afternoon. There will be several periods of heavy rain overnight and off and on through the week, until the center of what's left of "Fay" heads north. Still, we will be left with a low level moist airmass, typical of late Summer, and I expect daily afternoon storms to fire up through Friday atleast. Some areas closer to the mountains and higher elevations will get around 10" of rain, some spots possibly more, but for most of the Shelby-Forest City corridor, I'd expect atleast 2 to 4" of much needed rain. Enjoy!
Next up, we have to watch "Gustav"
