Big East Coast Rain Storm Saturday
A tornado outbreak is possible west of the Appalachians on Friday afternoon, and a heavy rain threat exists for the Apps and east to the Coast on Saturday. A strong blocking high will help slow down a front as it approaches the East Coast early Saturday, and the strong surface to 850 mb wind flow will come in off the Atlantic and bank up against the mountain range , from northern Georgia to Pennslyvania, creating the threat for repeating rains and thunderstorms. Some areas could get inundated, especially around the southern Apps in far northeast GA, and the western Carolinas, and again in VA up to Pa. Get set for a soggy Saturday, and possibly a Severe Outbreak west of the Appalachians.
